St Andrew's Bay
The largest colony of King Penguins on South Georgia Island was supposed to be our final landing site. However, because there were so many elephant seals on the beach, there was no place to safely land -- so we had to settle for photographing from the Zodiacs. This wasn't an easy task as between the choppy motion of the boats and the gloomy, and sometimes snowy weather required both high shutter speeds and high ISO settings. You can see the results...
