Vendee Globe - Race Day at the Pontoon
On the day of the race, the pontoon is closed to the public as the skippers and their teams prepare for departure. Spectators piled onto boats in the harbor and lined the channel leading to the ocean. Many camp out overnight to ensure a front row seat for the parade of boats as they sail to the start. Over 350,000 people showed up on race day to cheer on the racers!
